Pevensey Bay
The seaside village of Pevensey Bay will provide you with just about everthing you should require without the need to travel anywhere. There is a well-stocked convenience store as well as a newsagents, beach goods ahop, Post Office, bank, library, chemist, hairdressers, off-licence and a florist. You can buy angling equipment, caravan and camping gear, you could even purchase a Triumph motorcycle.
There are 4 pubs in the village as well as a couple of cafes, fish & chip shops, a Chinese resturant and separate takeaway and an Indian restaurant and another place for takeaways.
Further afield, about 3 miles away at Sovereign Harbour on the outskirts of Eastbourne there is a 24 Asda supermarket as well as a variety of restaurants and a cinema.
Getting there:
Road At the Pevensey roundabout on the eastern end of the A27 take the A259 following the signs for Eastbourne and Pevensey. Turn L at the lights and follow the road until you reach a small one-way system. Follow the road round to the right and take the 2nd left into Bay Road. The Promenade is at the end of this road. Turn R at the end. No1 is the first house on the right.
Rail Pevensey Bay station (0.7 miles) offers a very limited service of about 5 trains a day. Pevensey & Westham (1.8 miles) is on the mainline service from London Victoria to Hastings
Bus Pevensey Bay is served by the No 99 bus from Eastbourne to Hastings. There is a 15 minute service throughout the day and the bus stops at the end of Bay Rd.
Coach There is one National Express coach (Service SH024) from London Victoria Coach Station departing at 15:00
